Product Overview

One connected platform for the whole construction project

Novologic is a construction Common Data Environment (CDE): a single, connected home for everyone and everything on a project. It brings owners, contractors, consultants, and suppliers together, mirrors the way work actually happens on site and in the office, and captures a complete, trustworthy record as you go.

On top of that foundation sit purpose-built modules and the NX AI layer, including our variation engine, VET.

The Foundation

A Common Data Environment (CDE)

A Common Data Environment is a single, shared place where all project information lives, so the team works from one trusted set of records instead of scattered inboxes, drives, and spreadsheets.

Construction projects generate an enormous amount of information every day. Novologic gives that information one home, one structure, and one history, so nothing is lost and everyone is looking at the same truth.

Everything else in the product (the Spaces, the modules, the workflows, and the AI) is built on top of this connected foundation.

System of Record

The single system of record for your project

A system of record is the one authoritative source that everyone agrees is correct. When a question comes up about what was decided, what was submitted, when it happened, or who was responsible, the answer lives in one place, not in someone's inbox or a folder on a local drive.

Novologic is that system of record. Every record, notice, decision, attachment, and change is captured with its full context and history as it happens, so the project's story is written once and never has to be reassembled after the fact.

One authoritative source

There is a single, trusted version of every record, so there is never a debate about which copy is right.

Structured and connected

Records are organized and linked to the people, modules, and events they relate to, not stored as loose files.

A permanent history

Every action is captured contemporaneously and time-stamped, creating a complete, defensible record over time.

Definitive Data

Definitive Data — a state of perpetual data readiness

Because everything is captured as it happens in one connected system of record, the project's data is always complete, current, and trustworthy. We call this Definitive Data: information that is ready to stand on its own the moment you need it.

Definitive Data means the project is in a state of perpetual data readiness. There is no scramble to reconstruct events, chase down attachments, or reconcile versions before a report, an audit, a claim, or a decision. The record is already whole.

Always audit-ready

A complete, time-stamped, and defensible history is in place at all times, not assembled after a dispute begins.

Always reporting-ready

Because the data is structured and current, status, trends, and risk can be reported at any moment without prep work.

Always decision-ready

Clean, connected data lets teams — and the NX AI layer — act on what is happening now instead of reacting later.

Five Spaces, one environment

The CDE is organized into Spaces that match how construction is really organized, from the individual all the way up to the enterprise. Each Space inherits the same records, security, and history, so information flows up and down without ever being re-entered.

User Space

Your personal workspace — your tasks, notifications, drafts, and the items waiting on you across every project.

Team Space

Where a discipline, trade, or company works together — shared records, responsibilities, and internal collaboration.

Project Space

The single source of truth for one project — every drawing, record, decision, notice, and variation in one connected place.

Portfolio Space

A roll-up across many projects — compare health, risk, and variation exposure program-wide from one view.

Enterprise Space

Organization-wide governance — standards, access policies, and data ownership applied consistently across everything.

Collaboration

Everyone in the project environment, together

A construction project is a crowd: owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, consultants, suppliers, and advisors. Novologic brings them into the same environment so communication, records, and decisions happen in one place, with the right visibility for each party.

Shared context

Comments, notices, and decisions live with the records they relate to, not buried in email.

The whole team

Every party on the project can participate at the level of access that fits their role.

One version of truth

Everyone works from the same current records, so there is no argument about which file is right.

Robust access controls & security

Because the whole project team shares one environment, control matters. Novologic gives each party precisely the access they should have, and nothing more.

  • Role- and project-based permissions
  • Granular visibility, export, and print controls
  • Space-level governance from user to enterprise
  • Every action logged for a defensible audit trail

Capture everything, contemporaneously

Novologic captures all sorts of project data as it happens: documents, photos, correspondence, daily logs, decisions, and events. Most of it is simply good project record-keeping.

Only some of that data will turn out to be variation data, but because it was all captured at the source, the evidence is already there the moment you need it. You never have to reconstruct the story after the fact.

Modules

Connected modules on top of the CDE

Modules give the environment purpose. They share the same records, Spaces, and security, so the Project Drive, the Directory, VET, and the Chronology are all views into one connected dataset.

Project Drive

A structured home for every project file — drawings, photos, documents, and correspondence — versioned and searchable.

Project Directory

Everyone connected to the project in one directory — owners, contractors, consultants, and suppliers, with roles and contacts.

VET

The Variation Event Tracker — the engine for identifying, documenting, quantifying, and resolving variation events.

Chronology

A continuous, time-stamped record of what happened and when — comments, notices, and events woven into one timeline.

Variations

First, what is a “variation”?

“Variation” may be the most misunderstood word in construction. On most projects, a change is only treated as a variation once it has been formally approved, so nothing gets recognized until a change order is signed. By then, the work has often already happened and the window to control it has passed. Novologic starts much earlier.

A variation is anything that was not part of the baseline: baseline scope, baseline schedule, or baseline cost. Approved or not, it should be identified as a variation the moment it appears.

The baseline is the plan you agreed to

Everything inside the baseline is “the deal.” The moment something falls outside it, that's a variation, whether it's extra work, a delay, or an added cost.

What most people think

“A variation = an approved change order.”

Only what's signed

This captures only a fraction of the story, and always too late to control it.

The Novologic approach

“A variation = anything outside the baseline.”

Everything that matters

Identify it the moment it appears, capture the evidence contemporaneously, and stay in control, long before it ever becomes a dispute.

VET (Variation Event Tracker)

VET is the engine that puts our definition of a variation to work. It helps teams create, document, track, quantify, review, approve, and resolve variation events, from the moment they fall outside the baseline.

A variation event may be a decision, change, event, milestone, activity, field condition, design issue, coordination issue, late approval, procurement issue, or any other occurrence outside the baseline scope, schedule, or cost.

VET core features

VE Number & Version

Uniquely identify and version every variation event.
